I don’t know you, he said
But I know you, she smiled
And he remembered her face,
From a chemistry class;
Where they’d tricked the new girl,
Into falling for a plan,
And appearing their fool,
For the pleasure of a while.
His faced turned deep red,
As the new girl spoke on,
Her name was Ariana,
One, he never got to ask.
For the new girl departed,
From the school after that;
And they dumped her memory
At the back of their minds.
But the deeds that you do,
Circle right back to you;
For the universe revolves,
With our sins and our goods;
It takes 365 days,
For a revolution to occur,
It might take longer moments
But our deeds get back at us.
OH how good! I can feel how bad that guy feels! Great job!

If he really did feel bad about it, I sure hope he remembers so he will not repeat that same behaviour again. Great poem.

Beautiful Ameena and so true. We never think about it but how often when we’ve been rude or mean to someone else, does that come back to stare us in the face. As well as it, works the other way around, when we’re feeling someone who hurt us received got their just desserts. Irony in this isnt there.

You made the message crystal clear with this one. A lovely commentary on life and its ways. What goes around, comes back around.

I swear I run by that motto. The good you do is yours, the bad you do is yours. What goes around must come back around.

Oooh, that entire last stanza. Well done, Ameena! What goes around does indeed come back around. And I think it’s a good thing for us all to remember that we reap what we sow.

It’s the ‘you reap what you sew’ principle, isn’t it Ameena?
