Past the darkness-

Past the darkness-

IMG_5807

Your world was full of darkness,
So I handed you a rope,
To lead you down a pathway,
To the light my soul calls home.

But darkness had convinced you,
It’s warmth was all you need,
The light would add to you nothing,
But unnecessary heat.

Your world was full of darkness,
So I handed you some words,
To keep you company as,
A reminder you’re not alone.

But darkness had convinced you,
It was all the friend you need,
So you bundled up the pages,
Putting a torch to our friendship.

Your world- so full of darkness,
And it hurts you cannot see,
The wings ingrown within you,
You’ve had all you needed to flee.

If only you could- look past the darkness,
For a moment… you will see.
Until then my rope’s still hanging,
To pull you down, whenever you need.

Resilience-

Resilience-

Last night,
My walls crumbled down;
The roof above me,
caved in;
My skin tightened,
Flesh upon flesh
With blood rapidly pulsating.
This must be it,
I thought to myself;
This can’t be it,
I declared;
A brewing storm,
On my insides-
My throat, my eyes-
Blazing.

Tonight,
It all seems distant past;
There’s something
To be said about-
Resilience.
Last night I said-
This can’t be it;
And my Lord,
He got me through it.

DAY 30: Overwhelmed

DAY 30: Overwhelmed

image.jpeg

This universe,
With everything in it-
The gallant stars, the milky way,
Earth and it’s seven revolving sister planets,
The mountains- standing firm and strong,
The dancing waves of the deep blue oceans,
All of it, magnificent creations.

And there- she is,
A bare creation of 5″6,
Wondering where she fits amidst,
Overwhelming beauty,
Overwhelming presence,
Overwhelming people at every single corner.
And she thinks, maybe
It isn’t for me-
I could leave,
and no one would notice i’m gone.

But girl…
This earth was made for you,
To wonder and ponder and dwell In it,
To climb up those mountains,
Feel the air upon your skin,
Watch the stars light up darkness
Swim amongst the sea entities;
If you find this world overwhelming,
It may be thinking the same of you,
Don’t get stuck on what is theirs,
While your beauty eludes your view.

The Joy, I carried-

The Joy, I carried-

image

The light of my life,
And the glint in my eye,
She is the sun who’s rays are undying.

The stars are a stretch,
When her sparks start to shine,
She is a diamond who cannot be cracked.

If the moon is a pearl
Then her face beams a thousand
My baby, my girl, the child that I carried.

Joy came through marriage,
And contentment ensued,
Till for 9 months a soul- emerged in my womb.

The glint in my eye,
My moon during dark,
My baby my girl, the joy that I carried.

She was beauty-

She was beauty-

image

She tried to find the beauty,
People claim, in her they see;
That light which brightens hearts,
And set some souls ablaze;
She stared at her reflection,
With every waking dawn;
And spent the day dejected,
Cause the light, she never saw;
But the beauty was embedded,
In the window of her teeth;
In the way high voice rose high,
When she fluttered at her speech;
In the tightening of her lips,
When she hears of injustice;
In the widening of her eyes,
At the sound of Poetry;
She tried to find the beauty,
People claim in her they see-
In her soul, it was embedded
In every cell of her being.

Of the darkness-

Of the darkness-

image

I know the darkness is consuming,
And the cracks are fit too tight,
For the golden rays to traverse,
Illuminating whats inside.
I know the smooth road’s more inviting,
Cause you’ve roughed most of your life;
And though seasons change from summer
to winter, the darkness stays constant.

I know these things cause I’ve lived that life,
When dusk and day are alike;
When the tear drops from the heavens above,
Mix with those from your eyes.
When the incessant battle in your head,
Reflects in the black you adorn;
And you bite your tongue each time the words,
I’m fine slips from your mouth.

I know the darkness is consuming,
And the light seems far away;
But I’ve been there and I tell you-
It’s a long journey with spiral corks,
Which in the end, the path will straighten,
Though you doubt that will come true;
But only so much darkness can circle around,
Before inevitably, the light shines through.

Someone like you-

Someone like you-

image

Show me- the parts of you,
Living in- the depth of wounds;
The scars hidden from all to see,
Show me your soul, your zeal to live-
For there is someone like you, in me.

Save the small talks and pleasantries,
Speak to me of- the thoughts that keep;
Those memories- which haunt your dreams,
The galaxies you’ll love to visit-
For there Is someone like you, in me.

When the miles, our worlds divide,
And vocalization wouldn’t suffice;
Read the words, with my heart I write,
And know Alone- you’ll never have to fight.
For there is someone like you..

Drowning-

Drowning-

image

He was drowning,
And she noticed,
Little scars across his wrist;
And she pulled him,
Every morning,
One more day, to hope to live;
He was drowning,
And she saved him,
Or at least she thought she did;
But with each pull,
He sunk deeper,
like a heavy load on sea.

He was drowning,
And she watched,
His light dim before her eyes.
And she realized,
The reason,
Her will alone wouldn’t suffice.
She couldn’t,
Save a person,
Determined his world was doomed.
She couldn’t rescue,
A drowning soul,
Till he lifts his body too.

He was drowning,
And instead she,
Held his hand amidst the waves;
He was drowning,
And she didn’t urge
Him, to kick against the waves.
He was drowning ,
And all she said-
It is going to be okay.
He was drowning,
And she held his hand,
Amidst the rising waves;
It is still okay.

A while ago, I wa nominated by Prakash Hegade and Nimmi to do a challenge. The task is to write a
Paragraph/phrase/one-liner/poem/story/haiku/photograph/anything-else which ends with the #ItsStillOkay and marks a perfect.

Just a teenager-

Just a teenager-

image

There was an empty in her laughter,
And less meanings in her words;
Her shoulders- sloped too often,
Closed posture, she assumed;
Heedless to observations,
In a bubble she resides;
Carefree with an air of gloom
Hovering above- she was described.

Lived on the notion love was but
The movies she had watched;
And somewhere In between life threw
Some sunshine in her storm;
For the downer angst filled teen
Displayed emotions ‘stead of words;
‘least that’s what loved ones hoped
Would be the eventuality for-
Anger as hers was consuming
and destroyed the light of soul.

But she’s still a teenage girl,
And lives her life without regard;
And maybe she is satisfied with,
The way her life has panned so far;
There’s lot of road bumps up ahead
The anger’s just begun;
In place of judgement, all she needs-
Is a solid rock to fall back on;
To crash, is inevitable yet the chance
To rise is greatly more-
When knowing there’s someone there
To lend a hand, as you pull back up.

I turned off the comment for this post because I haven’t been able to reply to posts much recently and it’s unfair to have you guys take the time and write such kind words if I don’t reply them on time. I’ve been wrexams since Sunday  but will get back and reply as soon as I can. ❤

Of her mind-

Of her mind-

image

She had the most beautiful mind,
A galaxy of infinite stars
In the form of thoughts-
Swirling around,
In her brain’s sulci and gyri-
I wonder,
I just wonder
How one creation could hold
So much genuine-
Creativity
Passion
Intensity
With profound humility.

And she’d smile, bashful
Waving off compliment;
Lower her gaze hiding,
Those caramel eyes- behind
geeky glasses.
And I wish,
Oh I wish,
She could see the view
From where I stand.
She watches the universe
Admiring it’s beauty-
Fade to black
Grow into light
Day and night;
But she,
She holds the most beautiful
Universe-
In that mind of hers.
