Writer’s Quote: Roald Dahl

I began to realize how important it is to be an enthusiast in life… If you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it at full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all, become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good, hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be.
– Roald Dahl

We all know the saying “slow and steady wins the race” but when it comes to something we are passionate about, slow and steady doesn’t cut it. You just go headstrong and give it your all; you don’t hope for the best or for a miracle to occur, you sweat and work towards it. Being an enthusiast is a great gift, because it means, you do not settle for “okay” or “basic”; it means you don’t sit around and expect but you go all out, every single time.

There are a number of successful blogs I have come across and one thing that stands out is despite their booming readership and huge following, they still take the time to read other small blogs and even drop one or two comments. They don’t do it because they have to, but because they love to do it. They are passionate about reading and blogging and this In turn does a lot in endearing them towards us, hence indirectly, further increasing their success. The more you give, the more you get.

You are a writer, so embrace it, hug it, love it. It is your passion and if you want to scream so at the top of your lungs, then by all means do it. It’s your passion and nobody has the right to tell you to tame it.

This is my submission for Writer’s Quote Wednesday

  1. Love the quote and what you wrote is so true! Naturally, when there is a true passion for something we dive in head first and submerge ourselves to the experience as much and as quickly as possible. With that we still thirst for more and swim towards uncharted waters fearlessly! Wonderful and wise advice 🙂
