A ten year old with wild dreams,
An astronomist in the making;
Bumped through life’s many pitfalls,
Stumbled a bit, wavering.
Your mama’s told me all about you-
With dreams taller than your statue;
The goings rough, in the mean while;
Yes you- I know, don’t deny it.
They’ll say baby girl- get over it
And think hugs, kisses will erase it;
But I’ve been there honey and I tell you-
When the storm comes; got to keep your head up.
Yes you- but it will get better-
If not, I wouldn’t be writing this;
And though, love doesn’t make it go away-
I know, but it does make it better.
So yes, keep your head up baby girl,
And know that mama’s in your corner-
Always, and the spiral that’s coming down-
From there, you will build your skyline.
Stay strong, baby girl- you’ll make it.
Aww, this poem hits me right in the heart ❤ #Feels

This is a fascinating dialogue of support, but has it crossed your mind that the roles could be reversed? I have a daughter with a daughter (my granddaughter!). My daughter has been fighting a brain tumor for many years now and her daughter has had her share of problems. My daughter has always been in her corner for her. In a recent conversation, my daughter told me that they were talking about stuff which included health issues and, in view of recent complications, said to her daughter “I have nobody here in my corner.” to which her daughter replied “Mom, you have always been in my corner for me. I am now in your corner!” 🙂
Note: I am also in both their corners but, unfortunately, about 3000 miles away.

Awww, there is so much we can do due to distance but I’m sure they know you’re in their corner always. About reversed roles? Absolutely! Just like that of your daughter’s daughter 😀 , the roles are changed In some cases too. But honestly, it slipped my mind until you reminded me now. Som thank you for that 🙂
