The color drained from Allison’s face as she stared unblinking at the image fixated on the screen. “Woman found drowned”– the caption read. It wasn’t as much that a woman was found dead by a couple of teens gone fishing which unbalanced her; it was the “woman” who was found. The tumbler in Allison’s hand trembled, her heart beat an irregular rhythm.
Only yesterday, she caught a glimpse of “the woman” whose name now appeared to be Anna talking to Richard Blake at the lake and now, she was dead. Allison didn’t need any special calculator to fit two plus two. Her mind was racing at a million to one, what if?
The next sound Allison heard was the thud of a fallen object. She turned to find Richard towering over her- it was his suitcase. Unaware that Allison had sighted him and Anna together, he masked his expression, appearing unnerved upon seeing Anna’s death. Allison noticed the sudden shift in expression and fear enveloped her heart. Who really is Richard Blake?

Do you think Richard Blake could go as far as to murder a person? If yes- for the motive of helping Allison or is she just a pawn in his game? And lastly- who is Anna? I’d love to hear your theories.

Anna has to be either H’s girlfriend or the detectives girlfriend. I think Richard is trying to help Allison because someone is trying to drive her crazy or get her in trouble. I think the culprit will be sniffed out very soon and put into prison.

Maybe Anna had dirt on Richard and was trying to blackmail him so he killed her?

That is definitely a possibility 😉 . But I think Richard is too shrewd to be blackmailed easily.

I knew not to trust Richard!! But perhaps PJ is right and he really is trying to protect Allison! Oh Ameena this reminds me of the tv series Secrets and Lies that just finished up. Such a mystery, and as much as I tried to figure it out I was wrong! Keep up the great writing!

Haha, thank you Joy, I see you are inclining towards pj’s theory 😉 . I think one can never fully trust a person who’s betrayed you once, and that’s the thing with Allison and Richard. But we’ll have to wait and see the next part 🙂

I suspect we’ll never truly know who Richard Blake is; he’s just that type of mysterious character. Could he have murdered that girl? I don’t know, and that uncertainty is scary! And if it is yes, why? It could both trying to help and use Allison (make the most of the situation). Or someone else did it, the same person who’s after Allison. Anna seemed to have been someone who knew too much or was getting too close. I can’t wait for more!

Izzy! You read a lot of mystery books don’t you?! 😀 you’ve really hit the character of Richard. He is someone who wouldn’t mind helping others as long as It’s to his advantage, or rather “he was”- we’ll have to see if this leopard has changed his skin.
