The hardest part-

They say the hardest part is moving on,
Walking away, letting go.
They were wrong.
Reality is so much more;
Nothing hurts more than
Feeling in every bone in your body,
The urge to look back-
Just one glance,
But resisting anyway.
Knowing somewhere deep down-
It isn’t worth it.

This week has been, well, it’s been been one heck of a week and so I haven’t been posting much, caught up with work and the (unreplied) comments and (unchecked) follows have piled up, my apologies. The weekend is coming and I will try to make up for it, will make time to write and reply on time.

Till next time and “bravo” to  all those who found a way of pushing down thae urge to look back knowing it’s not worth it; it is not easy.

  1. I know exactly how you feel Ameena. It’s difficult to know when something is worth looking back to or not and when you know it’s not, that is even harder because sometimes to give something up that was precious or you gave a lot of time to is painful. It’s been like that for me this week too.

    I hope you feel better and have more time to write and have a better week starting today. You are a very talented writer and seem like a sweet person. You’ll be fine.

  2. It is hard to not look back at times, but there are definite times when we just shouldn’t cause all it brings is pain. Moving poem once again and I am hoping for a better week for you next week!! Let the weekend come fast! 🙂

  8. Your words remind me of Mr. Thornton asking Margaret to look back at him in North and South. This is the one of the few instances, I agree to look back. It is so true that the temptation to look back isn’t worth it, when it will only bring back the negative,

    1. Haha, i dont think i know who Mr Thornton is but I do get the picture :D.
      It really is so hard not looking back, i dont think words can rightly describe it. But, i guess we have yo make do sometimes. 🙂

      1. True…. Mr. Thornton is the best period drama man in my journey in watching/reading them so far. He is from the novel North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.
